Fried Apples

INgredients

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 1/2 cup apple cider

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 2 lb golden delicious apples

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg

  • 1/8 tsp allspice

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Directions

  1. Core, peel and cut applies in 1/4” wedges

  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over low heat

  3. Place apples in a single layer in skillet

  4. Top with lemon juice, brown sugar and spices

  5. Mix well

  6. Cover and simmer over low heat until tender

  7. Remove apples from skillet, leaving juice

  8. In a small bowl, whisk together apple cider and cornstarch until smooth

  9. Whisk this mixture into skillet juices stirring constantly until thickened

  10. Pour over apples and mix to coat evenly
